Canine Physio Care is a dedicated Centre of Excellence in canine physiotherapy. Our team specialises in physiotherapy and hydrotherapy tailored to individual needs. Passionate about the role of physiotherapy and correct rehabilitation we ensure that the vital steps are taken for your pets’ recovery.
We incorporate client specific manual therapies, electrotherapies, remedial exercise, hydrotherapy and treatment plans to target the main goals and areas of injury of each patient.
WHO WE ARE
Our team consists of 3 Hydrotherapists and 2 Certified Physiotherapists with a combined experience of over 30 years. Our team of experts works together combining different elements of rehabilitation ensuring the best recovery possible, prolonging quality of life and reducing the chance of re-injury occurring.
From canine athletes such as racing greyhounds, coursing greyhounds and agility dogs to show and competition dogs, we provide a service that will enhance optimal performance, improve restoration, restore function and manage post competition recovery by providing lasting, cumulative benefits.
OUR APPROACH
Our approach to each case is entirely on an individual basis, with a thorough history taking and examination guiding the choice of an optimal individual treatment plan. Nothing is ever prescriptive but instead based around constant assessment and reassessment of the presenting issues and always taking into full account each animal's unique presenting circumstances, management, and behaviour.
This in turn develops a positive professional relationship with both the client and the pet leading to a positive outcome despite the limitations presented following diagnosis of their pet’s condition. Clinical reasoning and informed interpretation are the required basis for any intervention.
WHAT WE DO
We cater for all orthopaedic conditions such as femoral head and neck excision (FHNE), cranial cruciate (CCL rupture), osteochondritis (OCD), hip and elbow dysplasia, fractures, and patella luxation. Thus, osteoarthritis, bicipital tenosynovitis, musculoskeletal injuries such as muscle tears are also some common conditions frequently seen.
We also provide, fitness programmes for dogs suffering from weight issues, reduced muscle tone and poor cardiovascular fitness or it may be just for fun. Each programme is specifically designed for your pet in order to maximise the best quality of life possible.
Whether these conditions are managed surgically or conservatively, we provide the most suitable rehabilitation program for your pet’s desires to aid the most optimal recovery, accelerate removal of pain, stimulate lymphatic drainage and nerve fibres, increase blood flow and create better circulation.
